Christian Service
This assignment is for the transitional month of February to March. As you will see, it is business as usual for me. I seem to have only two speeds; stop and full throttle, and I am very rarely in the stopped position.
This Month, the Lord and I:

February Assignment
Submit a report that includes the following:
1. Type of ministry, and name of organization if any.
Name: Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene
Type of ministry: Outreach / Discipleship / Teaching / Counseling / Substance Abuse assistance
2. The number of activities (at least two are required)
Sunday Morning Service (5 hrs. per week)
Monday thru Friday (50 hours per week)
Monday thru Friday duties include
55 - 60 hours per week,
4. A thorough description of what you did for Christian Service since the last report. (At least two hundred words)
Since my last report, I have had a lot of stuff going on. I have continued to disciple the two guys previously mentioned in last month’s assignment. In addition, there is another fellow in my church who wishes to take his walk with the Lord to the next level. Although this man does not suffer from addictions, he would like to use some of my expertise in discipling. SO he and I have entered into a discipleship relationship.
Another thing that has begun is that the Pastor has asked for an Easter Outreach event before Easter, and for a drama for the actual service. So I have begun planning, along with designing flyers, and invites for the upcoming event. In addition, I have shot one commercial for the outreach event and it will be played this Sunday in church. The commercial is meant to inform the church of the upcoming event, and to get them excited about participating. In addition, to the outreach event the Pastor would like a drama or skit for the actual service (as previously mentioned) therefore, I went to the youth leader and he provided me with the use of his teens. We will begin practice this Monday.
The biggest thing that happened to me this month is that I received phone call from the new district superintendent for the Eastern Kentucky Church of the Nazarene. He let me know that he needed an interim pastor for a church not too far from me. He said that he had found a pastor (oddly enough one of two men who led me to the Lord) and that this pastor was only available three out of four Sundays a month due to being in the army reserve as well. Therefore, the DS wanted to know if I could do the job on those weeks. After prayer, and speaking to my God given authority structure, I called the DS back and informed him that I would be happy to help. Since I only have a local minister’s license in the state of KY I can only do the job under an ordained pastor, so it all seemed to work out.
My wife and I are truly honored and excited to be a part of this.
5. Your reaction to this ministry. What did the Lord help you accomplish? How did the ministry encourage you or help you grow spiritually?
I believe that this last month has been a very good one. I am humbled by the work that the Lord allows me to be a part of. I have been through a transition period with my church before, and during that time we lost a lot of members. In hindsight I see where things could have been done differently. I believe that the Lord is placing me in this church to be some kind of cowboy if that makes sense. A cowboy guides the cattle to their destination, and he rounds up any strays and brings them back into the herd. That is what I keep seeing when I close my eyes and think of this church. I believe that I am to keep the herd moving to their destination with the new pastor.
What did the Lord help you accomplish? How did the ministry encourage you or help you grow spiritually? I would say the following things:
